The SFDA electronic website (www. sfda.gov.sa) has completed its second year with noticeable progress as the number of its informational and educational subjects has increased impressively to 2025 subject; the main page has 210 news, food page has 67 news while drug page contains 332 news and the medical devices one has 24 news to sum up with 633 news. This concern of the SFDA reflects its willingness toward informing the citizens about all news in different SFDA field since its website is being updated currently and
continuously.
As a part of the SFDA role and committing to its duty toward the community, the website offers educational and cultural information about food, drug and medical devices. Food page contains 76 cultural subject, drug page has 68 one while medical devices one has 10 subjects, to reach in general 154 educational subjects.
In regard to hospitals and health centers, the medical devices sector has established a data base contains more than 1000 call and notification to inform hospitals and health centers about new matters related to medical devices and products. This system considered one of the modern programs as it works by a searching system deals with the product name or the called company, the date of call and the date of its addition to SFDA data base.
The SFDA seeks making use of experts and consultants in fields of food, drug and medical devices, for this reason it added to its electronic website a registration form of experts and consultants to establish a data base contains important information and details about them. The number of registers in this system reaches more than 660 experts and consultants from inside and outside the Kingdom.
In addition, the SFDA released its new service ''the SFDA in the press'' in its website which introduces all news and reports written in the Saudi press to be searched and viewed easily, any newspaper can be chosen to be browsed as the service contains 236 news until now. In regard to public opinion, the SFDA has made 18 polls to realize the public viewpoints about issues related to the SFDA duty.
This progress is a fruit of the SFDA hard work and continuous effort toward achieving best quality levels in designing and operating the website. Several effective mechanisms have been developed and used to publish reports, news and to follow up the performance and efficiency of the site periodically.
It worth mentioning that numbers of educational brochures have been loaded in the SFDA website to provide reliable and safe information.
