SFDA Role

Drug Authority (SFDA) plays a pivotal role in serving Guests of Allah (Hajj pilgrims and Umrah performers) by ensuring the safety of food, medicine, medical devices, cosmetics, pesticides, and animal feed in coordination with the relevant government authorities.

The SFDA inspects and monitors the incoming consignments at King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah and Prince Mohammad Bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Madinah, as well as at the warehouses and factories under its supervision in Makkah and Madinah.

It also conducts awareness programs to educate relevant personnel about laws and regulations and carries out regular field studies to improve service quality.

Through these efforts, the SFDA contributes. to a safer, healthier, and more seamless Hajj and Umrah experience
