"SFDA" Seizes 59 thousand kilograms of food "in violation" in two warehouses

SFDA inspectors found two warehouses in Dammam and Jeddah, vilating the conditions of food storage, where SFDA found about 59 thousand kilograms of rotting and expired food.
SFDA explained that its inspectors seized a large warehouse in Jeddah where the minimum necessary conditions for health and food storage is not available, and found it about 55 953 kilograms of food (chicken sausage, and potato Fries, and a variety of cheeses, and spices, and pickles, and dates) expired, and other is rotting and stored in very bad conditions.
SFDA pointed out that it is completing the legal procedures against the offending food warehouse, which includes the destruction of the quantities, and coordinate with the Jeddah Municipality to close it and do not let them store the food until they correct all the irregularities.
SFDA noted that the inspection tours in Khalidiya district - Dammam, led to the seizure of more than 3 tons of expired food stored in a warehouse lacked the minimum health requirements, with rats and birds inside the warehouse and high storage temperature, adding that it currently completed legal procedures against the violator warehouse, and coordinates with the Eastern region Municipality to close it and do not let them store the food until they correct all the irregularities.
