SFDA approved Abu Dhabi Food Control Body as a certified Authority, after   approval of H.E. Chief Executive Officer of SFDA, Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Meshal of the technical team recommendations, who visited Abu Dhabi to familiarize with government procedures for food control and food safety.  

SFDA authorized Abu Dhabi Food Control Authority to accredit licensed organizations  for  export of processed meat to the  Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, in accordance with the technical regulations and standards, and export requirements accredited by SFDA, in addition to GCC health and technical requirements for meat exports from United Arab Emirates to the Kingdom, in particular, paragraph (2) which stated: "Any meat and meat products shall not be exported from United Arab Emirates if its country of origin is prohibited by Saudi Arabia ", however, Abu Dhabi Food Control Authority shall provide SFDA with a list  of pre-approved organizations which intend to export to Saudi Arabia, in order to be considered for possible approval by SFDA before starting to export.

SFDA also decided to approve  "Al Wafi Factory for Export of Processed Beef & Poultry LLC" to export processed beef and poultry from Emirate of Abu Dhabi to the Kingdom, and therefore SFDA list of approved meat exporting establishments had been updated for exporting from United Arab Emirates to the Kingdom, to includes: Emirates Modern Poultry Company in Dubai to export refrigerated and frozen poultry meat products, Bustan slaughterhouse and factory in Sharjah to export chilled and frozen quail meat products, and Sevil factory in Sharjah to export processed beef and poultry only.
