SFDA" seized 12,700 kg of expired food in Jeddah and Al-Kharj

SFDA inspection teams seized 12,774 kilograms of expired food in a warehouse and a factory in Jeddah, Kharj province.
SFDA explained, in a statement, that the teams searched a reservoir at Al Mahjar district in Jeddah, and found in it 7,124 kilograms of pickles and black olives, green olives, dried figs, and Kamaruddin, pickled pepper and cucumber, expired and other food stored under the sun, all were seized and reserved.
And inspectors monitored other irregularities which is the low level of hygiene in the warehouse, with the presence of cats and mice on food products, inside the warehouse and in the surroundings.
In Al-Kharj, SFDA inspectors seized 5,650 kilograms of expired spices in factory on Al-Kharj Road.
SFDA will complete legal procedures against the factories and warehouses, which includes the destruction of all seizures, and correcting all of irregularities, and will apply the anti-commercial fraud against them.
