In Cooperation with the "Saudi Professional League", SFDA Launches Awareness Campaign on High Calorie Consumption Risks

Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA), in cooperation with Saudi Professional League, has launched a campaign to raise consumer awareness about calories calculation and the risks of high consumption of calories, as well as the role of physical activities in burning calories.
Yesterday, all clubs’ players of Prince Mohammed bin Salman Cup League wear arm tapes carrying the calories slogan, and it will continue holding the slogan to the end of the 18th round of the league.
SFDA aims though the campaign to raise awareness of the risks of high consumption of calories and daily intake, as well as the ways to burn it through exercises.
The authority, in cooperation with the General Sport Authority warned of energy drink risks across the stadium screens during the current season.
Executive Director of Communication and Awareness, Abdul Rahman Al-Sultan, expressed his thanks for General Sport Authority and Saudi Professional League for their interaction and response to the awareness campaigns that concern consumer health. He stressed that they are a key partner of the Authority in reducing unhealthy eating habits.
Additionally, Abdul Rahman Al- Sultan said: "SFDA is keen to disseminate awareness messages through sports activities, especially football, due to its impact on young people and its large fans in the Kingdom, as well as that the sport is relies primarily on good food habits."
Al sultan added that "Saudi Food and Drug Authority" is working to disseminate awareness messages in all platforms, in order to reduce unhealthy eating habits and its risks to public health.
