2025-02-12

The Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) has achieved a significant milestone by securing a spot among the top 10 government entities in the third round of the 2025 Emerging Technologies Readiness Index. This recognition, awarded for the second consecutive year, evaluates how well government entities adopt emerging technologies to enhance operational efficiency and achieve strategic advantages.

The SFDA received this honor at the LEAP 2025 Technical Conference, a leading global event focused on digital transformation and innovation. The conference showcases the efforts of government entities in leveraging emerging technologies to improve performance and service delivery.

The index employs a robust measurement methodology based on four key capabilities: research, communication, proof, and integration. The SFDA's strong performance across these areas demonstrates its commitment to exploring and effectively implementing innovative technologies to enhance performance and achieve objectives.

This achievement underscores the SFDA's dedication to leveraging modern technologies and digital innovation within its core areas of responsibility: food and drug safety, medical devices and supplies, and cosmetics. Aligned with its fourth strategic plan, the SFDA prioritizes increased use of advanced digital technologies and supports research and innovation to strengthen health protection and improve product quality. This aligns with the Saudi Vision 2030, which champions digital transformation and innovation across the government sector.

The SFDA continues to develop its technical systems to enhance service efficiency, meet the highest safety and quality standards, thereby enriching the consumer experience and ensuring public health and safety.
