A Delegate of the S.F.D.A Visited the National Pharmaceutical Control Bureau in Malaysia

A delegate of the S.F.D.A ( from its drug and information technology sectors) visited the National Pharmaceutical Control Bureau ( NPCB ) in Malaysia during the 13th to the 16th of Rabee alawal, 1428H, corresponding to the 1st to the 4th of April, 2007. The aim of this visit was to identify the methods used by the NPCB in controlling and evaluating drugs and to study the cooperation prospects between the S.F.D.A and the NPCB in theses fields regarding the policies, legislations, support and training. The officials of the NPCB was concerned about this issue and expressed their readiness of cooperating with the S.F.D.A and it was dealt that each part determines its need after the visit.
The Delegate included: d. Saleh bin Abdullah Bawazeer the vice president of drug affairs, d. Saad bin Uthman Alkasabi the general manager of information technology and the acting general manager of financial and administrative affairs, d. Hajed bin Mohammed bin Hajed the manager of the administration of pharmaceutical preparations registration and engineer Khalid bin Abdulaziz Arrasheed the manager of application and data bases administration from information technology sector.
It worth mentioning that the authority of pharmaceutical control in Malaysia is one of the oldest and most experienced authorities in field of drug control in the Asian continent since the National Pharmaceutical Control laboratory ( NPCB) has established on October, 1978, in order to control the quality of medical and pharmaceutical supplies and preparations. In 1996, the NPCB was given the recognition by the World Health Organization (WHO) as a " WHO Collaborating Center For Regulatory Center Of Pharmaceutical '' and it considered an appreciation from the WHO to the NPCB efforts and contributions in pharmaceutical control field.

The Authority
