Saudi Food & Drug Authority Requests Public Opinion about Food Specifications Projects

In view of its concerns about stakeholder awareness and requesting their public opinion regarding the development, updating and adoption of food products specifications, for guidance, and in order to avoid any technical issues during enforcement of same. SFDA, represented by its Executive Department for Technical Regulations & Specifications is in the process of developing, updating and adopting specifications of some food products, through benefiting from the  international  experiences of the developed countries, regional and international organizations, working in  this field.

In this respect, SFDA would like to request the public opinion of the concerned entities about the proposed specifications, in its intention to avoid any future technical or economic issues after approval of such specifications. The Concerned parties may obtain a copy of the public opinion request by Clicking Here, for review and in order to provide SFDA with their feedback (using the designated form) according to each project schedule, provided in SFDA Website.

It worth mentioning that these food regulations and specifications include some important basic food technical specifications, e.g., updating GCC Technical Regulations of Food “ Validity Period of Food Products- Part 1 : Mandatory Validity Periods” as well as updating GCC Technical Regulations of Food, “ Labeling of Packed Food Stuff.” And updating GCC Technical Regulations of Food “ Potable Drinking Water”.
