SFDA Warns about using “ Hadidah” Cosmetic product, highly contaminated with Lead and Arsenic

Within SFDA role of surveillance, monitoring and control of safety and security of drugs , herbal, fitness and cosmetic products, SFDA has recalled several samples of a so called “Hadidah” substance added to some mixtures for hair nutrition and thickening and sold at “Attarat” stores. SFDA has analyzed these samples and found that they contain high percentages of Lead and Arsenic exceeding, by far, the internationally allowed limits (picture of this substance is attached). Due to the hazards of this substance to human beings health, as it is known to precipitate and accumulate in the liver, kidneys and brain, thus adversely affecting the nervous system and human health in general.
Therefore, SFDA has addressed the concerned authorities to take the necessary actions to ban entry, recall and ban selling of this substance in the local markets and take the necessary disciplinary actions against any entity that sells or markets this substance.
.SFDA advises consumers not to be mislead by such false alleges, which are absolutely untrue and may be harmful to the users of this substance.
