2022-07-08

The Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) concluded today its awareness programs to measure the awareness of pilgrims and provide instructions to ensure that they follow a healthy behavior from the moment of their arrival.

His Excellency the CEO of SFDA, Dr. Hisham bin Saad Aljadhey, pointed out that SFDA continues its work and is present at air, land and sea entry points for pilgrims, in addition to Makkah, and Madinah, to carry out the work of control and inspection of food, medicines and medical devices.

Dr. Aljadhey stressed that SFDA’s Tameni app allows pilgrims to search for the name of the medicinal product or scan the barcode printed on the box to identify alternatives and prices of medicines.

The app also provides a set of information and data to know the details about any pharmaceutical product registered with the SFDA, such as the indications, side effects, what should be known before use, and other details such as the trade and scientific name, pharmaceutical form, concentration and registration number.
