He Council of Ministers approved, in its session today chaired by The Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdul Aziz, the Cosmetics Regulations and prepared a Royal Decree to this effect.
The main characteristics of this regulation involve:
1. Enforcement of its provisions on cosmetic products, their factories, warehouses and trading.
SFDA confirmed the completion of update and renewal of certificates for more than 5800 drugs and 900 health herbals .
H.E. the Chief Executive Officer of SFDA, Dr. Mohammed bin Abdul Rahman Almishal sent his thanks and appreciations to the Custodian of The Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdul Aziz and HRH Prince Migrin bin Abdul Aziz, Chairman of SFDA Board of Directors upon approval of Cosmetic Regulations by the Council of Ministers.
SFDA organized a workshop entitled: ” Licensing and Registration of non- pharmaceutical Feed Additives Organizations and Products” at Jeddah Chamber of Commerce.
Based on the Drug Sector efforts at SFDA to update the guidelines continuously, updates were made on the Regulatory Framework of Drug Approvals and Guidance for Submission. A release note is provided to clarify the differences between the old and new versions.
The new updates of the Regulatory Framework of Drug Approvals are:H1
SFDA, represented by Drug Sector, organized Drug Awareness Program “ one of the Sector’s programs”- in order to increase the public awareness of the adverse effects of using drugs. The sector continued to organize its social activities in a number of Commercial Centers in Riyadh. The purpose of the program is to increase the public awareness, to clarify the risks of drug misuse and ignoring the instructions for drug use, in addition to introduction of SFDA’s mandate.
SFDA announced that the news communicated on the social media about the recall of vitamin D ‘ One Alpha’ produced by Leo company of Denmark , is not true. However, no new issues regarding the safety of the product, when used properly, or regarding its quality mandating its recall from the Saudi market.
