SFDA: Over 469 Drug Registration Requests Submitted through SDR System in the First Half of 2024
2024-08-13
The Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) registered more than 469 applications through the Saudi Drug Registration (SDR) System during the first half of 2024. Additionally, over 100 products were registered, and the number of certificates issued in the system exceeded 416.
The "SDR" system facilitates the registration of pharmaceutical and herbal preparations intended for human and veterinary use. It is dedicated to facilities registered with the SFDA in the pharmaceutical sector and helps ensure their compliance with the requirements to achieve product safety.
The system provides several services, most notably registering or canceling requests to register a new medicine, amending requests for medicines already registered in the system, objecting to rejected applications, and saving medicine data and files.
It also continuously works to improve and develop the user experience by shortening the registration time for companies, speeding up the completion of procedures, and activating alerts in the event of any change in the status of an application.
It is noteworthy that the Saudi Drug Registration System "SDR" is one of the SFDA’s electronic services, which was supported and developed by its technical partner “Thiqa Company”. SDR’s services can be accessed by visiting the website (esdr.sfda.gov.sa).
