Roundtable Connects SFDA with EU Officials and Business Leaders in Brussels

The Chief Executive Officer of the Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA), H.E. Dr. Hisham S. Aljadhey today opened a roundtable meeting in Brussels, bringing together key European officials and business leaders. Participants included representatives from the European Commission's Directorates-General for Health and Food Safety, Agriculture and Rural Development, and Trade, along with members of relevant European Council working groups and CEOs of leading European companies operating in sectors aligned with the SFDA's remit. The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s Ambassador to the European Union (EU), Ms. Haifa Al Jedaie, also attended, underscoring the Kingdom’s commitment to enhancing international cooperation in food and medicine.

The meeting outlined SFDA services provided for the private sector and foreign companies, highlighting initiatives that support businesses and enhance investment opportunities, such as specialized workshops and seminars. Participants explored private sector aspirations and investment prospects in the Kingdom's food, drug, and medical device sectors, emphasizing the significant potential for international partnerships given the Kingdom's continuous growth and rapid development.

On the sidelines of the meeting, the SFDA showcased its work in nutrition and nutritional policies, highlighting its vision for developing a food system that promotes product quality and safety. The presentation included the SFDA’s achievements and initiatives developed in cooperation with local and international partners.

The SFDA also shared its future vision for deepening international partnerships and expanding global cooperation, leveraging its memberships in key international organizations. These engagements are integral to the SFDA's strategic goals of promoting a thriving business environment, advancing public health, and strengthening international cooperation.
