The SFDA represented by its food and drug sectors, participated in the "ISO/ SASO Regional Workshop on Stakeholders Participation in International Standardization" which was organized by the Saudi Arabian Standards Organization from 15 to 16 -3- 1429H, in cooperation with the "International organization for Standardization", ISO. The workshop dealt with several aspects about standardization as:

- An introduction about working with the "International organization for Standardization", ISO.
- Technical regulations and standards, their usage and reference to international standardization.
- A show from the Saudi Arabian Standards Organization about the regional issues and challenges that face standardization.
- The influence of individual rules and system in standardization projects.

The delegation of the SFDA was headed by his Excellency the vice executive president of food affairs Dr. Ibraheem bin Saad Almuhaize, beside a number of the SFDA consultants and employees.
