Under the sponsorship of his Excellency d. Fahd bin Abdurrahman Algunaim the minister of agriculture, the agriculture ministry organizes the first agricultural meeting activities which includes working sessions, discussion seminars and a specialized agricultural exhibition during the 21st to 22nd of Safar 1428H coinciding with (the 11th to 12th of March 2007). The meeting aims to highlight the role of the agricultural sector in developing the national economy, exchanging the experiences that relate to agricultural fields, examining pioneer innovations of agricultural companies and focus on the importance of the correlation between these companies in many fields as: the agricultural production, the agriculture industrialization, economizing the consumption of irrigation water, means of increasing production in a specific area, new methods of decreasing the production cost and increasing its quality and protecting the soil.
There are more than sixty working papers offered from the several sectors of the ministry and its administrations, the private sector and the farmers.
During the two days different issues related to agriculture will be discussed such as:
1) The first issue deals with the water and agriculture resources and examine the new techniques of irrigation and their role in increasing the efficiency of water use, the corps needs of water, water rations and new agricultural methods which economize the use of water.
2) The second issue deals with agriculture and the environment such as: concerning about cultivating pastures, controlling the expansion of deserts, recycling the agricultural residues, organic cultivation, safe use of fertilizers and pesticides, biological and comprehensive protection, improving the soil properties and its production and the economical corps.
3) The third issue concerns about the pisciculture, the protection and exploitation of fish in the Kingdom, the pisciculture which is a flourishing industry and the relative property of the pisciculture in the Kingdom.
4) The forth issue focuses on the animal productivity and experiences of increasing it, the preventive system of animal and new methods and techniques of examining and diagnosing causes of animal diseases.
5) The fifth issue concerns about the agricultural industrialization and the transformational industry of agricultural products, new techniques of food preserving and increasing their expiry period and manufacturing the agricultural production.
6) the sixth issue focuses on marketing and its branches like: importing contracts, distribution ways, cooperative associations, exporting, carnivals, abroad marketing experiences and festivals of agricultural products.
Beside other issues deals with growing human resources and practical individual experiences.
It worth mentioning that all of the working papers and recommendations will be printed at the end of the meeting activities to be distributed to concerning people.
