CEO of the SFDA Explores Ways to Enhance Cooperation with Egyptian Food and Drug Regulatory Authorities in Cairo

During his official visit to the Arab Republic of Egypt, H.E. Prof. Dr. Hisham S. Aljadhey, Chief Executive Officer of the Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA), held meetings with several officials in Cairo to strengthen bilateral cooperation and promote collaboration in areas of shared interest.

Dr. Aljadhey met with H.E. Mr. Alaa El-Din Farouk, Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation, in the presence of the Saudi Ambassador to Egypt, Mr. Saleh bin Eid Al-Hussaini. Further meetings were held with Dr. Tarek El-Houby, Chairman of the National Food Safety Authority (NFSA), and with Dr. Ali El-Ghamrawy, Chairman of the Egyptian Drug Authority (EDA). 

During the meetings, discussions focused on strengthening regulatory integration between Saudi Arabia and Egypt. Key topics included exchanging expertise and information, and coordinating on regulatory matters related to the safety of food products, pharmaceuticals, cosmetic products, and medical devices.

Dr. Aljadhey's visit to Egypt underscores the SFDA's ongoing commitment to advancing regulatory cooperation, ensuring food and drug safety, and fostering alignment with counterpart authorities in areas of mutual interest.
