The Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) participated in the annual meeting of the International Medical Device Regulators Forum (IMDRF) which was held virtually for three days and hosted by the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA).

SFDA was represented by the Vice President for Medical Devices Sector at SFDA and Chairman of Global Harmonization Working Party (GHWP), Eng. Ali Al-Dalaan.

Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) monitored 291 violations in facilities under its supervision, during 4,677 inspection tours in all regions of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in June this year.

SFDA stated that it carried out 2,445 inspection tours to food facilities, 280 to pesticides and feed facilities, and 1,535 to pharmaceutical facilities and medical devices, in addition to routine visits and smart inspections.

The Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) has chaired the first meeting of the Arab Technical Committee for Standardization of Medical Devices and Supplies, as SFDA chairs the Arab Technical Committee for Standardization of Medical Devices and Supplies (AIDSMO/TC4).

The meeting was held virtually, with the participation of a number of member states of the Standards and Metrology Center of the Arab Industrial Development and Mining Organization.
