The CEO of the Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA), H.E. Prof. Dr. Hisham S. Aljadhey, led the Authority's delegation participating in the 41st Annual Meeting of the International Society of Pharmacoepidemiology (ISPE), which took place in Washington, D.C., from August 22 to 26. The meeting was attended by a number of heads and representatives of counterpart drug regulatory authorities from around the world.

The CEO of the Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA), H.E. Prof. Dr. Hisham S. Aljadhey, chaired a roundtable meeting at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce in Washington, D.C. The meeting, which included Mr.Steve Lutes, the Chamber's Vice President for the Middle East, representatives from major U.S. companies, and the Saudi Commercial Attaché, focused on exploring opportunities for cooperation and investment within the SFDA’s areas of expertise.

The Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) is pleased to announce that it is now accepting scientific submissions for the 5th Regulatory Research Day, scheduled for Monday, November 3, 2025, at SFDA headquarters in Riyadh.

Submitted research should focus on one of the following areas: human and veterinary medicines; herbal products; food and animal feed; pesticides; medical devices and supplies; and cosmetics.

The World Health Organization (WHO) has officially designated the Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) as its Regional Centre for Nutrition Collaboration for the Eastern Mediterranean Region, which encompasses 22 countries. This recognition highlights the SFDA's extensive efforts in implementing robust food and nutrition policies. These policies are designed to enhance public health, improve quality of life, and reduce the prevalence of non-communicable diseases.

The Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) has been honored with the Silver Award in the seventh cycle of the King Abdulaziz Quality Award (KAQA). This prestigious recognition, presented in the Best Quality Practices in the Government Sector category, was received by H.E. Prof. Dr. Hisham S. Aljadhey, Chief Executive Officer of the SFDA.

As part of its ongoing efforts to strengthen food safety and enhance regulatory performance, the Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) has developed the Digital Employee tool, an automated solution designed to support the rapid assessment of chemical hazards in food.
