SFDA Chief Executive Officer meets with President of Ports Corporation and reviews SFDA & Fast Alarm Centers Operational Mechanisms

SFDA Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Mohammed bin Ahmed Al Kanhal, received yesterday at SFDA Head Office, H.E President of Ports Corporation, Engineer Abdul Aziz Al Tuwijri and Ports Directors. At the beginning of the meeting Dr. Al Kanhal welcomed Engineer Al Tuwijri and his accompanying delegation and emphasized SFDA keenness to embrace the principles of transparency and clarity aiming to strengthen assurance of food and safety, drug security and efficacy and safety and efficiency of medical devices and products.

SFDA Warns about “Al Haramain” Potable Water due to exceeding allowed Bromate limit

SFDA has recently collected samples of various potable drinking water, locally produced and packed, from different production dates to check for compliance with GCC Standard Specifications No. ( 1025/2009- Potable Drinking Water).The said specification set out the maximum permissible limit of Bromate at (10 ppm). Laboratory analysis of Al Haramain water samples “size 4&5 Gallons”, produced by Al Haramain water plant in Dammam Province, revealed that they exceeded the maximum allowed limit of Bromate.

Further to SFDA approval of interested organizations in export of meat and meat products to the kingdom.., approval of the Vice President for Food Sector was issued to approve of some organizations and update the list of previously approved organizations for export of meat from Jordan as follows:
First: Approval of the following two organizations
1. National Poultry Company
2. Seniorah Food Industries Company
To export their processed red and white meat products from safe sources to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia
