Cooperating with King Faisal Specialist Hospital, the SFDA is organizing a campaign for blood donation starting from Saturday 8-6-1428H, corresponding to 23-6-2007AD and It will last for three days starting at 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. A specialized team will exist with their carriage in front of the SFDA headquarter to have blood from donors whom don’t belong to the SFDA.
A large number of people participated in a poll of the SFDA about the less polluted and healthier food. 54.27% believe that food produced locally is healthier and less polluted, while 27.64% chose imported food for being better. The remaining 18.09% voted for (I don’t know). This poll shows the importance of raising medical and nutritional awareness in the community in order to educate people in these areas.
نظمت الهيئة العامة للغذاء والدواء ممثلة بقطاع الدواء بالتعاون مع المركز الهولندي للتيقظ الدوائي (لاريب - Lareb) خلال يومي الأحد والاثنين 9-10/6/1428هـ ورشة عمل التيقظ الدوائي بمقر الهيئة بمدينة الرياض وذلك بهدف تحديد المتطلبات الفنية لقاعدة رصد الآثار الجانبية للأدوية و الاطلاع على قاعدة البيانات الهولندية و مدى استفادة قطاع الدواء بالهيئة من قاعدة البيانات الهولندية في برنامج رصد الأعراض الجانبية للأدوية في المملكة، بالإضافة إلى التعاون مع المركز الهولندي في تدريب الصيادلة العاملين في مركز التيقظ الدوائي.
The SFDA food sector hosted a Netherlands delegation represented by Mr. Fritz Foscht, the Official of the International Cooperation in the Netherlands Authority of Food Safety and Consumer Products, and Mr. Cambel Alberts, the Consultant of the Nutritious Safety in Wageningen University, during the 2nd to 6th of Jumada Alakher, 1428H, that equals the 17th to 21st of June, 2007AD.
The SFDA, represented by Prof. Ibrahim Al Mohizea, Vice President of Food Affairs, and Dr. Salah Al Miman, the Food Sector advisor, participated in the Joint FAO/WHO Food Standards 30TH Session which took place during the period 2-7, July, 2007 in Rome. The Session entitled "Codex alimentarius" was attended by other delegates from Saudi Arabia headed by Mr. Nabeel Ameen Mula, the General Director of the Saudi Standards and Meteorology.

Through this service, all news and reports published in the Saudi press are added to the intranet portal of the SFDA to facilitate viewing them, and any news paper can be chosen to scan its reports.
