The Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) stressed the importance of avoiding exposure to pesticides due to the significant danger they pose if not handled correctly.

This warning is part of the "Summer and Tourism" awareness campaign launched by the SFDA in anticipation of summer, a time when pesticide use increases due to increased insect and rodent activity.

The SFDA emphasized the need to ensure that pesticides are registered with the SFDA before purchasing and using them at home. Consumers should verify the product's name and registration number through the public health pesticides list available at the following link: https://sfda.gov.sa/en/informationlist/65748

The SFDA also highlighted the importance of contacting the Ministry of Health emergency number (937) in case of pesticide exposure, following the instructions on the pesticide label, staying away from the exposure site, and removing any contaminated clothing.
