Drug sector arranges workshop about the" drug policy and procedures"

The SFDA has arranged workshop related to drug policy and procedures in cooperation with the international bank and World Health Organization. This workshop discuses the drug sector and the drug policy requirements for safety and life improvement of the publics and they puts the main objectives for this policy to ensure safety, effectiveness, quality, price and good medication consumption. In addition, the workshop focused on how to find an effective way to communicate with patients and all society individuals. Moreover, the executive manager of SFDA; Dr Mohammed Al Kanhal declare in the beginning of the workshop that: he and the SFDA staff will try making an accepted agreement by all institution, which may concern. In addition, it determines the institutions that may concern to make a discussion plan with them.

Many deputies have attended this workshop from the ministry of health, ministry of interior, ministry of army and aviation, universities, King Faisal specialist hospital and research center, Saudi pharmaceutical society and Saudi counsel for health specialists. Dr Ibrahim Alshowaier notify to the increase in the challenges to drug sector because of the continuous changes in the global commercial relations and the consequent necessity to a clear policy for drug sector. Finally, at the end of the workshop they recommend a future procedure plan including an analytical evaluation for drug sector, making drug formulary, DPIC and pharmacovigilance center and reviewing the current pricing procedure.
