The Irish Ambassador to the Kingdom, Mr. Tony Kutter, visited SFDA today and met with H.E  the Chief Executive Officer of SFDA, Dr. Mohammed bin Abdul Rahman Almishal.

ضبطت الهيئة العامة للغذاء والدواء، نحو 281 طناً من الأرز غير صالح للاستهلاك في مستودعين بجدة.
وأوضحت الهيئة، أن مفتشي الهيئة لاحظوا إغلاق أبواب مستودعين للأرز في جدة خلال وقت الدوام الرسمي، فعادوا خارج وقت الدوام ليضبطوا مخالفات كثيرة في المستودعين، تمثلت في سوء ظروف التخزين ومستوى النظافة العامة، ووجود حشرات خصوصاً السوس في أكياس الأرز، مع فضلات طيور قربها، إضافة إلى وضع أكياس أرز تالفة قرب أخرى صالحة للاستهلاك.

Saudi Food & Drugs Authority organized “Eid Al Fitr” reception party for the year 1435H. The Reception party was headed by H.E. CEO of the Saudi Food & Drug Authority and a number of SFDA Senior Staff and employees.  

The attendees exchanged Eid greetings and blessings, wishing this country continuous pride, welfare, dignity and prosperity while wishing the same for the Arab and Islamic Nations. 

SFDA launched today, Sunday, 17 Shaban 1435H, its 3rd  Annual Blood Donation Campaign in coordination with King Fahad Medical City in Riyadh. H.E. Vice President of SFDA, Dr. Mohammed bin Abdul Rahman Almishal and a number of SFDA Executives & employees from its three sectors ( Food, Drug and Medical Devices), contributed to the campaign in its first day , and that the campaign will continue for five days.

SFDA has registered the Food Product No. 100k in its electronic program for registration of imported food, which was launched 5 months ago.  H.E. The Chief Executive Officer of SFDA, Dr. Mohamed bin Abdul Rahman Almishal, clicked the “Approval Icon” for registration of product No.100K, which is expected to reach 200K by the end of this year.

SFDA announced that analysis result of Cadbury chocolate samples ,available in the Saudi market, proved that they are free from Swine DNA .SFDA started, two days ago, urgent precautionary measures , by collecting samples of the these products, after the news saying that they contain Swine DNA. The samples contained different Lot Numbers produced by other countries e.g. Malaysia, to analyze them and make sure that they are free of Swine DNA.

The activities of the 9th. version of Drug Awareness Caravan in Balassmar, Tanumah and Namas public hospitals have recently come to an end  in the Southern Region. The caravan targeted the small cities and provinces that have less drug awareness campaigns.

Egypt ambassador to the Kingdom,  Abdul Wahab Afifi, highlighted  the strong mutual relations between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Egypt which culminated to a high degree of cooperation between the two countries based on the deep common and historical mutual relations.
