“Kuwait  Health Care Technology Systems & Regulations Forum” , organized by Kuwaiti Engineers Association, was held in Kuwait on Thursday 19/6/1433H (10/5/2012) and hosted a delegation from SFDA Medical Devices and Products Sector.

A delegation from SFDA visited yesterday KAUST at Thwal. The delegation was headed by H.E Chief Executive Officer of SFDA, Dr. Mohammed bin Ahmed AL Kanhal and  Vice President for Food Sector Dr. Ibrahim Al Mehaizie, Vice President for Drug Sector Dr. Saleh Bawazir, Vice President for Medical Devices & Products Sector Dr. Saleh Altayar and Assistant CEO for Planning & IT, the Director of Projects and Maintenance Dr.

Under the auspice of H.E. Chief Executive Officer of SFDA, Dr. Mohammed bin Ahmed Al Kanhal , the 4th.National Week for Protection from Intoxication entitled :” Let’s Protect Them against Intoxication”  was opened by H.E. Dr. Ibrahim bin Saad Al Mehaizie  on behalf of Dr. Al Kanhal.

SFDA has launched it 1st. Version of SFDA Application on iPhone. The Application included information about SFDA and its mandate in addition to introduction of SFDA Sectors: Food Sector, Drug Sector and Medical Devices & Products Sector. The Application observed easy access to News,Alerts and links to online services. The Application also include several videos and awareness and medical flyers.

SFDA will launch ‘Intoxication Forum’ event next Tuesday morning in Riyadh, under the banner: ‘ Let’s Protect Them from Intoxication” as part of the 4th.National Week for protection from intoxication. The forum is organized by SFDA Drug Sector represented by Consumer Awareness Department.

H.E. Dr. Mohammed bin Ahmed Al Kanhal, Chief Executive Officer of SFDA emphasized the importance of giving due care in inspection of imported food at SFDA Direct Clearance Offices at the points of entry, particularly fish shipments arriving from the Arabian Gulf, to ensure that they are not contaminated with human remains & microbes. This comes as a precautionary action, as some Gulf States drain untreated sewage and waste into the sea. Dr.

Dr. Mohammed bin Ahmed Al Kanhal, the Chief Executive officer of Saudi Food & Drug Authority emphasized that SFDA considers Businessmen as partners in the success of SFDA monitoring and control mandate  through their commitment to the standards, conditions and requirements of manufacturing and import of food, drugs and medical devices & products.

In view of its concerns about stakeholder awareness and requesting their public opinion regarding the development, updating and adoption of food products specifications, for guidance, and in order to avoid any technical issues during enforcement of same.

​H.E. Dr. Mohammed bin Ahmed A Kanhal, Chief Executive Officer of SFDA welcomed today Mr. Avilino Brito, Head of the Spanish Standards Committee ‘AENOR’ at SFDA Head Office in Riyadh. The purpose of the visit was to discuss ways of strengthening cooperation and collaboration between the two organizations in th e field of food, drug and medical and diagnostic devices & products in SFDA endeavors to achieve its mission of assurance of safety of food, safety and efficiency of medical devices and products.

​H.E. Dr. Mohammed bin Ahmed A Kanhal, Chief Executive Officer of SFDA welcomed today Mr. Ahmed Mukhtar Ghoun, the Ambassador of Turkey to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia at SFDA Head Office in Riyadh. This visit comes in line with friendship relations between the two countries.
