SFDA Captures 6 tons of violating honey, rice, fish and cheese in Dammam & Bisha

SFDA captured about 4.5 tons of expired rice and honey of unknown source in Dammam and more than 1.5 tons of improperly stored foods in Bisha. In a statement, SFDA explained that its inspectors captured 1500 kilos of expired frozen fish and cheese, potable drinking water and beverages stored under the direct sun rays in a food store in Namran section in Bisha. SFDA added that, the inspection tours in Khalidiya section of Dammam captured 3000 kilos of expired rice with manipulated expiry dates which were repacked in other containers with manipulated weights. In addition they were stored in places lacking the minimum health requirements. SFDA stated that it detected another store in Khalidiya section having 1500 kilos of honey, some of which in packages of unknown source and other are expired, lack labelling and stored in under unhealthy conditions.
SFDA confirmed that it is currently proceeding the disciplinary action against violators.
