SFDA Warns about particular shipments of Similac Powder Infant Milk

On 22/9/2010 (13/10/1431H), Abbot company announced a voluntary recall of particular shipments of Similac Powder Infant Formulas , contained in plastic and metal packs, as they are suspected to contain small beetles or their larvae
US FDA sees that the presence of such insects or larvae in the product does not cause direct harm to the health but may make infants uncomfortable due to consuming the contaminated product.

Saudi FDA is coordinating with the respective entities in order to take the necessary precautionary actions to prohibit entry of this product to the Kingdom’s market, at one hand, and to investigate about their existence, and recall them from the local markets, at the other hand.
