SFDA Closed Out Five Violating Medical Products Stores in Dammam

SFDA continues with its surveillance and control campaigns to medical devices and products stores and closed out 5 violating stores in Dammam, only after few days from taking the same decision against 7 other stores in Riyadh making the total number of the closed out store 32, in 40 days.
In a statement, SFDA mentioned that it conducted an inspection campaign to the medical devices and products stores, in cooperation with East Region’s Governorate & Police and captured 5 violating stores in Dammam which did not respond to the grace period allowed to them to correct their situation and did not comply with the conditions and controls imposed by SFDA in order to regulate and organize the medical devices and products market.
SFDA pointed out that the key violations involved non obtaining of SFDA license by the store, occurrence of expired medical products, or products of unknown source. The goal of surprise inspection campaigns is to ensure adoption of SFDA requirements and conditions by the medical devices and products stores to guarantee safety, efficacy and quality of the medical devices and products.
Moreover, SFDA inspected 315 medical devices stores, located in 29 cities during the period 19/11/1435 H and 9/4/1436 H, wherein it captured 58 thousand violating medical products.
