SFDA Temporarily Embargoed Imports of Poultry Meat from Italy

SFDA temporarily embargoed imports of poultry meat, table eggs and products from Veneto area, Italy, due to presence of severe Bird Flu infections. SFDA pointed out that thermally treated poultry products or products that are treated using any other method that guarantees they are free from bird flu virus, will be excused from this embargo, provided that they conform to health and approved specifications and requirements, according to an official and stamped health certificate from the respective Italian Health Authorities proving that they are thermally treated or treated by any other method that guarantees they are free from bird flu virus.
SFDA also pointed out that this temporary embargo will continue until stability of the health of animal resources and approval of poultry meat & products exporting organizations from Italy.
SFDA confirmed that its resolution dated 5/11/1434H, stipulating temporary embargo of poultry meat, table eggs and products from Emilia Romagna, Italy, due to the presence of severe bird flu disease in that area, will continue to be in effect.
