ICT Minister handles Digital Excellence Award to SFDA

SFDA has achieved top rank of Digital Excellence Award for the year 2011 for its– Interactive Entertainment Branch of Jeelalghad website (www.jeelalghad.com) which is dedicated for children awareness. The Award was given to SFDA by H.E Minister of Information and Communication Technology, Eng. Mohammed Jameel Ahmed Mulla during a festival and was received by H.E. Dr. Mohammed bin Abdul Aziz Al Eqaili, Assistant SFDA President for Planning & IT in the festival organized in this event. H.E. ICT Minister visited SFDA’s ward in the associated exhibition and listened to a detailed explanation about Jeelalghad website and its role in building a generation who is aware of his food and health needs.
At his part, Dr. Mohammed bin Abdul Aziz Al Eqaili, Assistant SFDA President for Planning & IT explained that creation of Jeelalghad website came as a result of SFDA’s awareness role through transmission of awareness messages by adopting an important scientific principle: “ Learning by Entertainment”.
The website contains various stories, some of them are animated to suit younger children and some contain pictures and texts and stories requiring the child to answer some questions to be able to complete the story thus attracting children attention and reinforce their information.
The website also contains three section for games through which awareness massages can be delivered> The website develops the ability of thinking in children and explores their talents e.g. “Draw & Paint” section where children paint beautiful pictures that enforce their information and useful healthy habits and posting their drawings on the website for evaluation and comments by visitors.
The website contains a dedicated section to raise children’s awareness and knowledge by providing them with direct information about several topics of interest and good conduct, in addition to the contest section where information tests are provided and incentives are given including beautiful certificates bearing children names and ages which can be printed and maintained.The website also contain interactive section enabling children to interact with the website and visitors thus developing dialge and discussion skills in a useful and funny atmosphere.
It worth mentioning that SFDA won the First Place digitally where its website () won the Digital Excellence Award – e-health branch for the year 2007.
