A Sudanese Delegation Visits SFDA

H.E. Dr. Mohammed bin Ahmed Al Kanhal, CEO of SFDA, received at SFDA’s Head Office a delegation from the Republic of Sudan comprising the Secretary General of the National Drug & toxins Council, Dr, Mohammed Alhassan Imam, General Hassab Alrasoul Babikir, Dr., former State Minister of Health and former chairman of the National Drug & Toxins Council, Dr. Ahmed Al Badawi Hamid,
Chairman of the Chamber of Drug Manufacturers. The purpose of the visit is to stand on SFDA experience in the early stages of establishment of an independent organization caring for Food, Drug & Medical Products in Sudan.
H.E. The Chief Executive Officer of SFDA delivered a brief presentation on SFDA’s role and mandate to ensure safety of food, security, quality and efficacy of drug and the safety & efficiency of medical and diagnostic devices in addition to SFDA’s role in fighting commercial counterfeit in coordination with the concerned authorities in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, in addition to consumer awareness.
The delegation visited SFDA’s sectors and departments, overviewed processes, regulations and legislations applied thereby in addition to SFDA’s role in regulation and surveillance and development of standard specifications for food, drug and medical and diagnostic devices plus inspection of locally manufactured or imported samples at SFDA’s or third party’s laboratories
It worth mentioning that SFDA receives official visiting and diplomatic delegations in order to share experience and strengthen SFDA’s position in order to become the leading food, drug & medical devices & products authority in the region through providing professional services that contribute to the enhancement and protection of the public health.
