2022-04-05
The Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) is intensifying its inspection and control tours of food facilities, storage warehouses and distribution centers in the regions of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, to ensure their compliance with the regulations, requirements of technical regulations and approved food specifications, in order to ensure the safety of products subject to its control.
SFDA indicated that this includes carrying out periodic inspection and control tours of the facilities under its control, with a focus on foods that are frequently consumed during the holy month of Ramadan.
In this context, the SFDA, as part of its inspection tours of food facilities, seized 1.5 tons of foodstuffs stored in violation of storage requirements in one of the facilities in Al-Ahsa Governorate.
SFDA explained that the food facility was seized for storing foodstuffs in violation of the technical requirements and regulations, in addition to monitoring the presence of rodent droppings on the site. As a result, those products were seized and legal measures were taken against the violating facility.
It called on consumers to report any such violations by calling the unified number (19999) or via the Tammini app available on the IOS and Android.
