حضر سعادة المستشار بقطاع الغذاء الدكتور/ زهير بن شروز ملا مؤتمرا بعنوان "المنتدى العالمي للسلامة الغذائية الدولية" والذي أقيم بمدينة بكين بدولة الصين خلال الفترة من 14-19/11/1428 هـ الموافــق 24-29/11/2007 م ويأتي ذلك في إطار حرص قطاع الغذاء على المشاركة الفعالة في كل ما يتعلق بسلامة الغذاء ولتحقيق أهداف القطاع في الحفاظ على سلامة الغذاء و مأمونيته .

The SFDA, Food Sector prepared a workshop about food safety and traceability aspects in collaboration with a team of exports from the US CDC, and National Food Institute DTU. Dr. Frederick J. Angulo, Deputy Brach Chief of the CDC, gave a presentation entitled " Food borne disease: Surveillance and Response" in which he illustrated some examples of the US successful experience in the field of food safety and traceability.
Cal Dooley, president and CEO of the Grocery Manufacturers Association (GMA) today unveiled Commitment to Consumers: The Four Pillars of Food Safety, a unique proposal designed to protect consumers by strengthening, modernizing and improving the system governing the safety of food and food ingredients imported into the United States.
The Food Sector held a workshop about "WTO Agreements and Their Effect on Food Trade" in collaboration with the UNDP on Tuesday 5.2.2008 at the SFDA office in Riyadh. The workshop instructor, Dr. Mohsen Helal, addressed several WTO agreements with special focus on the Sanitary and Phytosanitary measures (SPS) and the Technical Barriers to Trade (TBT).
حضر سعادة المستشار بقطاع الغذاء الدكتور/ صلاح بن عبدالعزيز الميمان ندوة بعنوان " Revolution in food safety management" والتي أقيمت بمدينة بالي بدولة اندونيسيا برعاية الإتحاد الفيدرالي لمنتجات للألبان "IDF" ومنظمة الصحة العالمية "WHO" ومنظمة الأغذية والزراعة "FAO" وذلك خلال الفترة من 06-08/02/1429 هـ الموافــق 13-15/02/2008 م وقد تركزت الندوة حول تحليل المخاطر المتعلقة بالألبان ، ويأتي هذا الحضور في إطار حرص الهيئة ممثلة بقطاع الغذاء على المشاركة الفعالة في كل ما يتعلق بسلامة الغذاء ولتحقيق أهداف القطاع في الحفاظ على سلامة الغذاء و مأمونيته .
On Friday 28, Italy ordered a recall of Mozzarella Cheese potentially contaminated with dioxin. The Italian government confirmed that the suspected product was not distributed abroad. France has lifted a ban which was temporarily imposed on sales of Mozzarella After receiving reassurances from Italy that the dioxin-contaminated product was not exported to any EU country.
