The executive management of laboratories in the food sector aims at preparing an integrated system of accredited laboratories for analysis of food and feed as one of the important sources of control. As well as the administration of food laboratories in the food sector specialized in the field of laboratory tests, tests and tests on the samples of food produced locally or imported from other executive departments in the sector, in addition to the samples transmitted by other relevant government agencies, followed by the laboratories of food control in (Riyadh, Jeddah, Dammam, Jazan, Ammar, Haditha), laboratory monitoring, reference laboratory, and central laboratory research.



Tasks:



  • To ensure the safety, safety and validity of imported and locally produced food for human consumption and free of prohibited and harmful substances in the health of the consumer through the examination of these samples in laboratories in their laboratories.
  • Supervising and following up the work of the food control laboratories located at the different border crossing points, the monitoring laboratory, the central reference laboratory and the research laboratory.
  • Providing inspection and analysis capabilities to all operational departments of the sector.
  • Implementation of monitoring programs provided by monitoring centers on types of food contaminants and field survey programs carried out by the relevant executive departments in the food sector.
  • Provide scientific and technical advice to the Commission in the event of any objection to the results of the analysis of samples in the laboratories of the other body and work as a reference to arbitrate the results of the analysis of those samples.
  • Coordinate with the competent authorities in the Commission to ensure the needs of the laboratories of the analytical devices and solutions and standard chemicals and glass and all other equipment related to the needs of the office.
  • Meeting the technical and administrative requirements for laboratory accreditation according to ISO 17025. Provide the capabilities and capabilities of trained equipment, tools, equipment and technicians to deal with emergency situations related to the safety of food, feed and pesticides.
